THE GOLDEN TEMPLE

The temple's four doors represent the Sikh belief in equality and the conviction that everyone is welcome in their sacred space. The sanctum and the pool are surrounded by a group of buildings. One of these is Akal Takht, Sikhism's main religious authority center.

BASILICA OF BOM JESUS

The Basilica of Bom Jesus, which dates back over 408 years, is open to the public on a daily basis. The body of St. Francis Xavier is encased in a beautifully designed casket, as shown in the photos below. Once every ten years, solemn 'body' shows are held. For a better understanding of the artwork of the time, several images shot within the church are included. Murals are the term for these works of art. One of Goa's and India's oldest churches. JAGANNATH TEMPLE

The Jagannath Temple at Puri, Odisha, on India's eastern coast, is a significant Hindu temple devoted to Jagannath, a form of Krishna. Anantavarman Chodaganga Deva, the first ruler of the Eastern Ganga dynasty, began the reconstruction of the current temple in the 10th century on the site of an earlier temple. The temple is considered sacred by all Hindus, but mainly by Vaishnavas. The Ratha Yatra, or chariot festival, is held every year at the Puri temple, during which the three main deities are hauled by gigantic, ornately painted temple cars.

In Prabhas Patan, Veraval, Gujarat, India, the Somnath temple, also known as the Somanatha temple or Deo Patan, is located. Hindus consider it to be the first of Shiva's twelve Jyotirlinga shrines, making it one of their most revered pilgrimage locations. It is thought to be the location where Lord Krishna completed his Lila and then went to his heavenly home.
