Mauritius' Most Luxurious Hotel

The Royal Palm, Mauritius' finest luxury hotel, is the Beachcomber group's flagship property. The Royal Palm has been a member of the world's tiny leading hotels since 1990 and is located in the island's northwestern corner. It's bordered by lush tropical plants and a lovely sandy beach with views of the Grande Baie lagoon. Despite the fact that the staff outnumbers the diners three to one, service is unobtrusive and superb.

The Royal Palm Hotel is one of Mauritius' most luxurious lodging options. There are just 84 suites in this all-suite hotel, all of which are lavishly designed. On the ground, first, and second levels, there are 57 Junior Suites with a total area of 55 sq m. They all have their own balconies or terraces and are near to the beach.

The four Tropical Suites are on the first level, with a balcony that leads to the gardens and stairs from the balcony. A large bedroom with a seating area and an ensuite bathroom totals 70 square meters. With a surface area of 15 square meters, the patio is likewise rather spacious.

The 7 Palm Suites are on the ground level and are 85 square meters in size, with a sitting room and a 21 square meter terrace. The Garden Suites, which are also on the ground floor, are lovely two-bedroom suites with a spacious open-plan bedroom and living area; the second bedroom has an ensuite shower room and is excellent for families with two small children.

The 8 Senior Suites are 103 square meters in size, with a huge bedroom, separate living and dining rooms, and a second bedroom that can accommodate one child and has its own en suite shower room. Private access to the grounds and beach beyond is available from the patio or balcony.

The final three suites represent the pinnacle of luxury, with additional space, rooms, and unparalleled seclusion and elegance. The Penthouse Suite provides beautiful views of the Indian Ocean, the Presidential Suites also feature spectacular views and two bedrooms, and the Royal Suite, which is routinely used by members of state and royalty, gives the ultimate in spaciousness and luxury.

The hotel's elegance is carried throughout the hotel, including the dining area. The superb cuisine is available on a half-board, a la carte basis, allowing you to sample some of the best Mauritian fares. Chef de cuisine Michel de Matteis, who has worked at a number of Michelin-starred restaurants across France, is in charge of the kitchen. If you want, there is also a bed and breakfast option.

At the Royal Palm, there are three restaurants to select from. The main restaurant, La Goelette, has panoramic views of the bay and serves breakfast as well as gourmet Creole and international cuisine. The seaside atmosphere of Le Bar Plage is ideal for a less formal lunch date. The tables are set up on a wooden deck in the shade of a large badamier tree. Finally, the Natureaty restaurant is a small, cozy eatery serving lighter fare right on the beach. You can alternatively dine in a more casual setting on your balcony or terrace.

The Spa at the Royal Palm is an excellent choice if a little pampering is on your wish list for a fantastic vacation. The quiet indoor and outdoor spaces are centered on a pool with separate cabins for Reiki, Ayurvedic treatments, and Thai massage, and are set in the gardens.

There are three floodlit tennis courts, a squash court, table tennis, bocci ball, and mountain bikes for hire, as well as a fully equipped gym if you want to stretch your limbs a little. The water sports are excellent, as one would expect from one of the world's most prestigious hotels. Water skiing, windsurfing, glass-bottom boat tours, snorkeling, kayaking, and pedal boats are all available. If needed, there is also deep-sea fishing and scuba diving nearby.

Overall, a vacation to Mauritius's magnificent Royal Palm hotel is one you will remember and want to repeat. It is without a doubt one of Mauritius' most luxurious hotels if a touch understated, and a must-visit for those seeking immaculate service and settings.
